KATE WASHINGTON MP

MEMBER FOR PORT STEPHENS

“In Port Stephens and in Parliament, I'm committed to fighting for the people who have placed their trust in me to be their voice. In everything I do, my community - the people I represent - will always come first.”

Prior to entering Parliament in 2015, Kate was a health lawyer standing up for people who had been injured by those they trusted. She was also well-known for her strong advocacy over many years for improved access to public education.

As Port Stephens' representative in the NSW Parliament, Kate continues to be an advocate for people with disability, victims of domestic violence, working men and women, and those struggling to get by. Kate has a strong track record of giving a voice to the voiceless and looking after the most vulnerable people in our community.

Since the Williamtown contamination crisis came to light, Kate has fought tirelessly for the affected families and communities, and she continues to do so.

Kate understands what is important to the people of Port Stephens - access to healthcare and education services, local jobs, and the environment. She will always fight for our fair share of funding.

Kate is also the NSW Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services, and Shadow Minister for Disability Inclusion.
